You should have a specific, coherent topic that you wish to address, and the paper should represent a reasonably comprehensive and competent review and analysis of the RESEARCH literature on the topic.
Be sure to identify a coherent theme and narrative for this paper. stress that this is a research-based paper and should not include anecdotal references or draw upon personal experiences.
Additionally, this should not be a simple description of a disorder ala DSM-5, but a deeper dive. This paper should be a minimum 8 typed, double-spaced pages. You are expected to use research publications from the professional literature base (8 sources at minimum). At least five of your sources should be experimental in nature (i.e., paper has Methods & Results).
You may be asked to produce these papers at some point during the semester. Your paper should cover the theoretical background of the theoretical orientation/therapeutic approach (including major theorists or contributors to the ideas), a description of the population(s) with which it is typically used, description of approaches or techniques often used, and a critical examination of the evidence that supports it (or fails to).
By the end of the paper, a reader should understand what the theoretical orientation/therapeutic technique is all about, who it might be used with, what it might look like in practice, and whether it should be used (based on the evidence supporting its use.
Legacies of the Renaissance and Reformation
Explain the legacies of the European Renaissance and Reformation movements and assess the impact of these legacies on the 21st century.
