For this assignment, you will write an essay explaining the various elements of the Lucky Me Animal Rescue adoption event project budget and how the scope and schedule are used to create the budget. Note: You may assume any reasonable total budget for this project.
Your goal in this assignment is not to justify the cost but, rather, to demonstrate an understanding of project management budget concepts.
To prepare the budget, the project manager, along with the project stakeholders, use three different elements. They include inputs, tools and techniques, and outputs.
Begin your essay with an introduction that summarizes the planning phase and budget management (within the scope of planning).
Next, discuss what will be included in each of the three elements and what documentation/information would be used from the project sponsors and the Lucky Me Animal Rescue organization. Be sure to include how the scope and schedule are used in preparing the budget.
For the second part of the assignment, discuss how the tasks that take place within project scope management and project schedule management would be essential to keeping the project within the budget guidelines.

Two of the most important elements of the project are the project team and the project stakeholders.
The stakeholders will state their expectations and their critical success factors for what a successful project will look like during the project’s initiation phase.
The project team will be responsible for completing the tasks in order to meet the critical success factors. In this course, you will use a sample project for the local nonprofit animal rescue. The animal rescue team has asked you to prepare for an outdoor adoption event.
For this assignment, you will write a paper in which you consider the 5Ws and 1H of project management and apply them to your sample project. Consider the project team you will need to create for the Lucky Me Animal Rescue adoption event.
Begin your paper with a summary of the initiation phase, and elaborate on why team formation is critical in this phase. Next, assess each of the team considerations listed below.
Who should be on the team? Be sure to consider necessary skills and expertise.
What are your expectations of the team? In what ways can you prepare the team and promote unity and cohesion?When should the project team be formed?
Where will your team operate (e.g., group, individual, virtual)?Why is each member of the team important?
Finally, how will the team continue to manage the stakeholders’ expectations and keep them informed of the project’s progress?

In Unit II, you have learned about the organizational structures and cultures that projects must operate in.
To prepare for this assignment, review Table 2.1 on page 23 of the textbook.
Your first task is to choose one of the three major organizational structures to associate with Lucky Me Animal Rescue.
The structure you choose to associate with the rescue is up to you, but keep in mind that it will continue to be the environment for your project as you complete the additional assignments in this course.
Next, you will write a proposal you can deliver to the rescue’s leadership and stakeholders to help them understand how the adoption event will be managed within the identified organizational structure.
The goal is to help them understand how their organizational structure will affect the project.
Your proposal should start with a very brief identification and description of Lucky Me Animal Rescue’s organizational structure.
You must then address how that structure will affect project characteristics. Refer to Table 2.1 in the textbook for a list of specific characteristics.
Finally, at a minimum, your proposal must also:
Examine the project manager’s role in the structure,
Explore how project communication will be conducted within the structure, and assess how project personnel and resources are affected by the organizational structure and how this can impact project progress and completion.

The purpose of this individual assessment task is to assess your knowledge of strategy theory, and your ability to communicate strategic analysis in written form.
What is strategy, and why is it important for all organisations, regardless of shape and size, to have a strategic plan? Using an example of a well- known business from your local area (Woolworths), analyse their environment and discuss how strategy can be used to deliver a competitive advantage.
This question should be answered in a persuasive essay format, with an introduction, body, and conclusion.
Real-life examples are encouraged and should be used to support your answers.
You will prepare the SHRM case analysis on “Designing a Pay Structure,” which consists of your completion of Tasks A–J that simulate the creation of a compensation system for an organization in meeting its goals and supporting its mission.
In your analysis, respond to the following tasks found in the case study by using Excel.
Your case analysis should consist of:
Task A: Create a complete job description for the benefits manager position using O NET.
Task B: Calculate the job evaluation points for the administrative assistant, payroll assistant, operational analyst, and benefits manager jobs. Provide a rationale for assigning specific degrees to the various jobs.
Task C: If there were any outliers (i.e., extreme data points) in the data, what would you recommend doing with them? From this point forward, assume no extreme data points exist in the dataset.
Task D: Conduct a simple regression in Excel to create a market pay line by entering the job evaluation points (on the X axis) and the respective weighted average market base pay (on the Y axis) for each benchmark job.
Task E: What is your R squared (variance explained)? Is it sufficient to proceed?
Task F: Calculate the predicted base pay for each benchmark job.
Task G: Because your company wants to lead in base pay by 3%, adjust the predicted pay rates to determine the base pay rate you will offer for each benchmark job.
Task H: Create pay grades by combining any benchmark jobs that are substantially comparable for pay purposes. Clearly label your pay grades and explain why you combined any benchmark jobs to form a grade.
Task I: Use your answer to Task H to determine the pay range (i.e., minimum and maximum) for each pay grade.
Task J: Given the pay structure you have generated, consider the following: Does this pay structure make good business sense? Do you think it is consistent with the organization’s business strategy? What are the implications of this pay structure for other HR systems, such as retention and recruiting?
Your analysis of this case and your written submission should reflect an understanding of the critical issues of the case, integrating the material covered in the text, and present concise and well-reasoned justifications for the stance that you take.
You are to complete this case analysis using Excel in a spreadsheet analysis format.
The case analysis should contain Tasks A–J stated in the case in Excel. Check for correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, mechanics, and usage. Citations should be in APA style.
