For example, interviewing the family at the start of the year might help you to (a) learn more about their background, values, and expectations for Angelica.

However, during the interview you would need to consider family communication styles (to know how to best ask and respond to questions), their roles (to understand who would be most appropriate to include in the interview), and their values (to determine if some questions/topics might not be appropriate to address.
