Anthropology

Although state societies are efficient in organizing people and resources, they also are associated with many disadvantages, such as extreme disparities in wealth and opportunities, use of force to keep people in line, and harsh laws.

Given these difficulties, why do you think the state has survived? Do you think human populations can develop alternative political organizations in the future?

Or, do you think it is inappropriate for outsiders to demand change? Do you think it is possible to achieve goals, such as improved nutrition, without pressuring groups to change their values and beliefs? Refer to the textbook for your answers.

The information MUST come from the attached document although other sources can be used in addition. will add the citation unless you find additional information from a different source add that citation.

Do not use headings in essays; use only paragraph form. The structure of an essay begins with the introduction which is the first paragraph, and it introduces the topic.

It should include naming the main components of the answer. It should be at least 4 – 5 sentences. It tells the reader what the essay is about and mentions the main points.

Then the body of the essay elaborates on each of the main points, and it is at least 3 or 4 paragraphs of at least 4 – 5 sentences. The last paragraph of an essay is the conclusion, and it is a summary of the main points of the essay.

Before you write the conclusion, go back, and read the question, then write the conclusion, summarizing the main points of the answer. It should be a full paragraph, usually 4 – 5 sentences. There is no new information in the conclusion. Many of the essays i have received are not in an Essay format.

Gendered structure of care during covid-19 lockdown

Highlight how working mothers once confined in the home space during lockdown took over the domestic work and caring for children.

As the public economy was more important the domestic space was devalued and women joined the workforce, during lockdown they were forced into domestic space, home. Women took over the domestic work and care work and valued it. Mothers internalized the role of being a mother is to provide care and domestic unpaid work.

Connect this concept to theories from feminist anthropology and the concept of home.

Your essay should have an introduction with a main point, body paragraphs with transitions between them, and a conclusion (that is actually a conclusion and not just a summary of your main points!!)

You should use evidence to support your points.

Use the information from the reading on individualistic and holistic personhood (Robbins’ “Cultural Construction of Identity) and analyze the material on the following site:

Papers that offer evidence/citations from any other sources (i.e. other than the website and the Robbins paper) will receive a failing grade. So no need for outside sources!

Only examine and discuss data for children aged 0-6/toddler & pre-school. Don’t write about children older than 6
