Instructions: Restoring habitat for endangered species has occurred across a wide range of ecosystem types and has been quite successful in some cases. For this assignment,locate a restoration plan that specifically addresses habitat for endangered species.
If you are affiliated with the military, you may find some interesting plans for restoring species on bases all over the US. Once you’ve located your case study, prepare a 3-4 double-spaced page paper addressing the following sections:
Problems and Goals: Why was this project initiated? Why is the particular species endangered? What were the major goals and/or objectives of this project?
Location and Challenges: Where is this project located? Why was this location chosen? Were there any particular challenges associated with the site?
Reference Conditions: Are any reference conditions or sites mentioned? Were these taken into account when designing the project?
Outcomes: What were the outcomes of the project? If none are listed, what do you anticipate as the outcomes?
General Impressions: What are your impressions of this restoration plan? Is it detailed enough to give you a sense of the scope of the project? Is anything missing? What have you learned about endangered species restoration from this case study?
