Case study assessment incorporating Recovery Care planning
Jane to approach allocated nurse if feels vulnerable/unsafe
from any other patients on the ward.
Explain to the Jane the need for a sexual safety plan while
she is inpatient of MHIU.
Ensure Jane is given a single room or shares a room with
another female client.
Jane to be encouraged to wear suitable attire whilst on the
ward.
To encourage to have adequate food and fluid intake and to
have good personal hygiene.
Ensure Jane is aware that other patients are not permitted
in each other’s rooms.
Identify high risk areas such as courtyard and bathrooms and
provide an increased degree of observation when the person is
in these areas.
Identify high risk times such as night shift and staff handovers
and ward rounds and provide greater vigilance at these times.
Suggest to Jane that her bedroom door be secured so she
may exit the room from the inside, but it may not be entered
without a key from the outside.
Each shift identifies Mikkayla’s vulnerabilities in terms of other
potential high-risk clients on the unit.
Monitor risks each shift and revise treatment plan if needed.
