Unit IV JournalIn this unit, we explore the roles of the Stafford Act, National Response Framework (NRF) and National IncidentManagement System (NIMS) during times of emergencies. Together, their scope is broad, yet following any major disasterthere is usually public outcry that not enough assistance is being provided by the federal government or that there is toomuch red tape in the assistance process.

If you or your home were to be impacted by a disaster, do you feel there is overlap or gaps in the federal assistancestrategies and resources that would be available to you or your state?

Explain your concern, and give an example of how itmight personally affect you.

Your journal entry must be at least 200 words. No references or citations are necessary.Unit IV BlogAfter reviewing this unit’s video, Module Two the Stafford Act, you will create a blog post that addresses the following.

Make at least one recommendation for change, and give an example of the anticipated effect.

Your post should have a topic, have a purpose of presenting apoint of view, and indicate an openness to dialogue by inviting comments. Since this class is your audience, you canassume a basic understanding of homeland security terms, phrases, and acronyms.

Be creative, while still meeting the requirements of the blog’s content listed above. The Blackboard Blog Tool will allow youto include text, images, links, multimedia, mash-ups, and attachments to your blog entry.Second, responding to those who comment will foster dialogue. After your initial blog post, you must provide at least onecomment to another student’s blog. You should be sure to respond to everyone who comments on your blog.

It is best topost your initial entry early so that you have time to respond and can receive full credit. To create your blog, you will utilize the Blog Tool in Blackboard. This is accessed by clicking the Submit Unit IV Blog buttonbelow the instructions.Your blog post should be a minimum of 1,400 words, and you must reply to at least one other student with a minimum of100 words. While the format of your post is not required to be in APA style, keep in mind that you must provide strongevidence and/or references to support your opinions.
